Human in the loop (HITL)

Human in the loop is an approach that gives a person a review or approval role in an AI workflow or action.

Why it matters

Some AI actions can affect people, systems, or business records. A human review step can help an organization apply extra oversight where its policy calls for it.

How it works

A workflow pauses at a defined point and waits for a person to approve, reject, or review the proposed action. The organization chooses which actions need that gate.

How Halo approaches it

Halo supports human approval gates for higher-impact actions. Teams configure approval policy and can review evidence of approvals and resulting decisions.
