Default-deny egress

Default-deny egress is a network policy that blocks outbound connections unless an explicit rule allows a destination.

Why it matters

An agent with open network access may reach services outside its intended workflow. Explicit boundaries help limit where runtime traffic can go.

How it works

The runtime blocks outbound network connections by default. An operator can define permitted paths for the agent’s required work.

How Halo approaches it

Halo’s secure agent runtime uses default-deny network egress with explicit network boundaries. Operators can also quarantine and release workloads.
